421 Hicks Hollow Road · Trenton, Georgia · Sand Mountain Foothills
Rescued animals, ancient land, and three
extraordinary geodesic Zomes await you.
Old Salem Farm didn't start as a destination. It started as a piece of raw Georgia earth on Hicks Hollow Road in Trenton — and a decision by Heather and Ryan Hanzelik to build something meaningful on it.
Over the years, what began as land became home: to rescued horses, donkeys, and pigs — and the offspring they've raised here — who now roam the property freely; to a stage where live music filled the hollow; to a 2,300 sq. ft. venue where the community gathered for events, celebrations, and autumn frights. Now, with three geodesic Zomes rising from the property, Old Salem Farm is opening its gates to travelers from near and far.
The name honors the history of this corner of Dade County. The mission is simple: give animals a life they deserve, give guests an experience they'll never forget, and give this land the purpose it was always meant to have.

Old Salem Farm transformed into one of the region's most talked-about Halloween experiences in 2019 with HauntedHollowFarm, a haunted trail through the woods on the back of the property. Heather and Ryan plan to bring the trail back from the dead soon.
Milestones
A Zome is not a cabin. It's not a dome tent. It's an architecturally engineered geodesic structure — a faceted, gem-like form clad in fiber cement panels that rises from the earth like a cut stone dropped in a forest clearing.
Each Zome at Old Salem Farm features a floor-to-ceiling diamond-format glass entry, sweeping polycarbonate skylight panels that bring the canopy inside, and a precision-insulated interior of magnesium oxide paneling — warm, bright, and completely silent.

Each Zome is its own world — the same stunning architecture, individually furnished and positioned across the property for privacy and views.

The Zome experience begins the moment you step through the diamond-glass entry.
A large diamond-format polycarbonate skylight panel spans the upper face of each Zome — scratch-proof, UV-filtered, and angled to frame the sky, the stars, and the treeline depending on the time of day.
Each Zome includes a full private bathroom with soaking tub, shower, sink, and toilet — everything you need for a comfortable, self-contained stay on the farm.
The interior shell is finished in smooth magnesium oxide paneling — naturally fire-resistant, mold-resistant, and engineered to create the clean white geometric interior that defines the Zome aesthetic.
Every Zome stay includes access to the main venue — featuring billiards, TV, music, and event space. Gather with your group or simply enjoy the amenities at your own pace.
Our 2,300 square foot enclosed venue sits at the heart of the property — a blank canvas for weddings, celebrations, church retreats, and corporate gatherings that demand something more than a banquet hall.
It has everything you need and nothing you don't: a proper stage, a dance floor, a full working kitchen, private restrooms, and the farm itself as the backdrop. Step outside and you're surrounded by pasture, animals, and Georgia sky.
Old Salem Farm began as a rescue farm — and that's still at the heart of everything we do. Our horses, donkeys, and pigs were rescued from neglect, and the animals born here since are the offspring of those rescues. All of them are loved, all of them roam freely, and all of them have a way of making guests feel right at home at the fence line.
Rescued from neglect, our horses now roam Old Salem's pastures free and unbothered — alongside foals born right here on the farm. Gentle, curious, and always ready for an audience at the fence at sunrise.
Loud, affectionate, and wildly entertaining — our donkeys are among the farm's most beloved residents. Children especially find them irresistible.
Intelligent, social, and surprisingly sweet. Our pigs were rescued from difficult situations, and the ones born here since have never known anything but a good life. Always a highlight for guests who've never been nose-to-snout with one through a wooden fence.
We're tucked into the foothills of Sand Mountain in Dade County, Georgia — just off Hicks Hollow Road in Trenton. The drive in is part of the experience.
